I started lessons with Roz a few months before my driving test after being recommended by a friend. From the get go she put me at ease and I was always comfortable and looked forward to our lessons. I wasn’t at all confident with my manoeuvres before starting lessons with Roz but she really helped me understand what I was doing and why. Roz is an exceptional driving instructor. After bad experiences with two other driving instructors, I was very close to giving up. In the past I had 2 other auto instructors where I had an huge lack of confidence and used to cry before every lesson. RoZ is the most amazing person I have ever met and actually made the effort to get to know me as a person and put me at ease when I am in the car. I am happy to recommend AutoRoz to learner drivers. My son’s previous instructor became unavailable and after doing some research and reading reviews, we luckily found Roz and agreed for him to start training almost right away, It was very easy to book lessons at a good rate, and he got very good instructions, meaningful progression reports and feedback, which aligned with the DVLA expectations. Roz gave my son excellent tuition in a calm, competent, manner and he progressed with each lesson that he had. I started my driving lessons with autoroz last year 2023, I was quite nervous and anxious as I hadn’t had a driving lesson for over 10years!
But within minutes of meeting Roz on my first lesson i was relaxed and calm and ready to do this!! This was down to Roz who was very reassuring and encouraging.
I knew I had picked the right instructor for me.

If your looking for an instructor to get you through your test quickly and someone who will be thorough and patient, roz is the perfect choice. I started my driving experience with an instructor who I just felt like I wasn’t learning anything from. I started with roz 2 weeks before my test and she managed to get me through it and I ended up passing first time with only 2 minors which I honestly thought was impossible. I had a great time learning to drive with Roz. I had previously had a number of driving lessons at uni, but I was not at all familiar with the roads in Borehamwood, and still had some issues that needed resolving. When I started taking lessons with Roz, she very quickly identified what areas we needed to work on and helped build up my confidence on the tricky junctions and roundabouts in the area. She always had a calm and patient demeanour, which was very reassuring and helped me to feel relaxed behind the wheel. I’m quite a nervous person but Roz has been very patient whenever I made any mistakes or messed up any manoeuvres, and she helped me learn and improve from them by explaining what I did wrong, repeating it until I got it right, as well build my confidence. I had taken 2 previous test before I started driving with Roz and I had sooo many lessons with them and I still failed. I honestly thought I wouldn’t never pass and just be learning for the rest of my life. I only had 7 lessons with Roz and I finally passed after years of driving and tests. I needed a car for my job and Roz made sure I got to where I needed within the time frame we had (which wasn’t long).
I really enjoyed our lessons and always looked forward to them. She gave me so much confidence as a driver and allowed me to see my own strengths, whilst offering useful tips which I will take with me on the road! At the age of 37 and being deaf, I was convinced I would never become a driver, however Roz was amazingly sensitive to my disabilty ( I wear a cochlear implant & suffer with anxiety). Not once did she shout, moan or make me feel I was incapable of becoming a good driver. She has a fantastic nature about her that makes you feel calm, capable and in control. I started with Roz in November 2019 when I first turned 17, and although I had been terrified of driving before then, she made me feel at ease instantly. By the fourth or fifth lesson I was comfortably driving her car. She was so calm with me, even when I made lots of mistakes and kept messing up manoeuvres. When lockdown happened, and I wasn’t able to drive for a long time, I thought I’d come back and know nothing. But the techniques she had taught me all stuck in my head and I got the hang of it again on the first lesson back. So September 18th 2020 rolled around and I passed my test. I owe such a massive thank you to Roz. If you've read the reviews , please believe them. It was a new car, new instructor but Roz built me up and encouraged me when I doubted myself. I had a lesson once a week from the middle of July, and somehow this formidable woman had me ready.

I passed my test first time today with 5 minors!
Before I met Roz, I was already a driver for 6 years in Israel. I wasn’t driving for a year before my first lesson and to do that for the first time in the UK was stressful and I had to get rid of some ‘bad habits’ I had, also I had to get used to some new rules. It was challenging!
I had 12 hours of learning with Roz, we practiced big roundabouts, which was something new for me.
All the way Roz was very patient, explained me the reason behind each rule. Considering my previous experience, Roz focused on my needs, she helped me improve some areas. Even though I was already a good driver, she gave me her best tips to become a perfect and better driver.
Roz is very professional and organised and always have a plan in her head before we start a new lesson. I would highly recommend her to any learner.

So glad my friend recommended Roz to me who literally helped me achieve something I thought I would never do.
I had a few driving lessons in a manual car previously and decided driving isn't my thing, but learning with Roz has changed it. It’s been a very pleasant experience, though I did not always have good days, I genuinely looked forward to the lesson every week.

If you're looking for a superb driving instructor who also has the patience of a saint, then look no further - Roz Harris is the instructor for you!
I was struggling terribly with the reverse manoeuvres and was starting to despair of ever grasping them. Roz - unlike my previous instructor - didn't insist on one set way of learning them, but instead tailored the technique so that any problems disappeared.
If you aim to be a safe, confident, competent driver, then I highly recommend Roz! She also has a sense of humour which means lessons are enjoyable, a big plus.

Before finding Roz, I had a really bad experience with an instructor so I was dreading my lessons. I was drawn to her website because of the promise that there would be no shouting and that nervous drivers were welcome. Roz, thank you so much for making me a confident driver. I had almost given up.
I passed my driving test 2 years prior but hadn't done my pass plus and I felt that there were gaps in my driving skills. I had tried out 4 driving instructors who I found negative and didn't help. I knew they couldn't help but I didn't give up. I Finally found the autoroz website. In the second lesson Roz got me driving on motorways. She improved my driving incredibly and my confidence ten fold. My previous teacher was taking me back to basics when I was a competent driver and this made me feel worse not to mention it was costing a fortune.
My previous instructor told me that my approach to roundabouts was chaotic"great I thought " but her lessons didn't help.
When I started lessons with Roz she diagnosed the Problems straight away.
Roz told me something very simple that seemed obvious but that changed my driving forever.
It wasn't that my technique was bad it was that I was going to fast. When I learned to drive 2 years prior and was approaching roundabouts I felt there was a pressure to pick a gap in the traffic and go, it felt as though I was holding drivers up if I slowed down etc.
Roz said the phrase that helped immensely.
She said when approaching a roundabout "always be prepared to stop, but look to go" I realised my whole focus was on not stopping and when I tried Roz's "approached ready to stop"it gave me time to see what was happening and there was no jerking breaking. Suddenly everything changed. Roz gave me tons of information but mostly she figured out what was going wrong. I didn't need to go back to basics I just needed some tweaks. Now my confidence is restored and I can't believe I no longer fear going on Aroads, motorways or even routes I have never travelled. I can't thank you enough Roz.
Don't waste your time with any other instructor, even if you have to wait for lessons with Roz its worth it!

For those who haven't had driving lessons before, they may think that it is the easiest thing to find the right driving instructor. For me I changed four times before finally coming across Autoroz . She was extremely supportive and I was able to learn so much over such a short space of time. I was taught the manoeuvres in such a way that I could always correct mistakes rather than having a routine that always had to be followed. I feel that she taught me exactly how to control the car, she was so supportive throughout & especially on the day of my exam when I was so nervous but i passed first time 20th May 2014. I'm not sure where to start to convey to anyone reading this just how flipping fantastic Roz really is.
Chances are you found her website because you are looking for the perfect instructor right? I was looking for the same thing, you've read other earlier testimonials & you might be thinking ....too good to be true;huh?
Well trust them....I can promise you with all my heart, Roz is the real deal. She is every bit as patient,calm,and friendly as everyone says but also firm in her teaching and her methods absolutely work!
If you decide to learn with Roz you'll find yourself with an instructor with huge experience , she is someone who puts you at ease immediately. Roz listens understands and is real.
Whether your young,old,completely new to driving or are starting again after taking a break I can't recommend Roz highly enough.
I passed my test 27th February 2014 on my first attempt at the age of 41 and can honestly say I've had a blast while being tutored by Roz
The whole learning experience was so utterly different to what I expected since my only experience previous was a single manual lesson after which I utterly beside myself with fear! So much so that I promptly fell down the stairs the following day and broke my left foot! I figured the big guy upstairs was trying to tell me something! If you believe in divine intervention then perhaps he also had something to do with me finding Roz a few years later and if you don't then please.....take my word for it. Roz is the best if you sign up embrace the experience and have fun. I did.

Thank you Roz for teaching me how to drive and helping me pass first time (19th April 2013) on an automatic car. After having failed two manual tests my road confidence and my ability to drive was very low, switching to automatic and more importantly to Learning with Roz was the best decision I ever made. Having had a significant number of lessons with both the AA and BSM over the last few years I was relieved to say the least after just one lesson with Roz
She is by far the best instructor I've had and the fact I passed first time with only 1 minor after only a couple of months with her serves as proof of this.

From an early age learning to drive was always one of my biggest fears and for years I sat as a nervous passenger not all interested in driving a car mysel...f. I would see the independence it gave my friends and family , get up an hour early to get somewhere on public transport and miss out on opportunities to go to nice places just so I didn’t have to face ever having to sit behind the wheel of a car.

To my horror for my 30th birthday last year I received a voucher for my first driving lesson off of a close friend who had always told me I would be able to drive. I felt sick with nerves when I received this gift and managed to delay booking the lesson for over 2 months. Picking up the phone to book that first lesson in January was one of the biggest hurdles I had to face, but after a few minutes talking to Roz on the phone and explaining my fears she had already put me at ease with her positive and reassuring words. It was strange but after putting the phone down I found myself actually looking forward to something I had feared all my life.

On the 13th January my stomach was taken over by butterflies, I was so close to cancelling. 1:30 arrived and there outside my house I saw the words AUTOROZ drive pass my window . . . it’s now or never I thought. With a big deep breath walked out of the door . . . . . that was the moment I took on one of the biggest challenges of my life and the day I met an instructor and now a friend who helped and encouraged me to face one of my biggest fears.

From the moment I sat behind the steering wheel for the first time with Roz her reassurance and calming ways put me at ease and made all my worries disappear. It was clear to me by the end of the lesson, that my friend had bought most probably the best present I could have ever got and thank to the way Roz had been with me a present that was going to change my life forever. I trusted the person sitting next to me already and knew she would be the reason I passed!

Every week I looked forward to my lessons. Roz’s uncomplicated teaching styles, patience, encouragement, reassurance and humour each week left me full of confidence and eagerly awaiting my next lesson. Driving was no longer a fear it was actually enjoyable.

I can whole heartedly say that thanks to Roz and the way she was with me from the moment I booked my first lesson with her, to how she delivered every lesson in a friendly but professional manner that she is the reason I successfully passed my test first time.

Passing my test has completely changed my life and has developed me as a person.

If you are reading this now and doubting yourself…. Believe me if I can do it anyone can! The main reason being on here you will find an instructor who will support and believe in you every step of the way. Someone who you can tell enjoys helping people to reach their goals.

Id taken lessons with another instructor previously but never enjoyed driving and I didnt feel confident behind the wheel. After my first lesson with Roz my confidence was restored and I enjoyed driving.

Id recommend to everyone to take lessons with Roz because its all down to her that I now have my licence. Roz`s friendly, patient approach made me believe in myself again.
